The story
The album – “Mighty Long Way” – recorded late 2015 / early 2016 & released in April 2016, ranges in style from folk, gospel and vocal jazz to 60s pop, Southern gospel and a touch of Broadway. Lyrically, it moves from the earliest awakenings of faith, the enthusiasm of the new believer, through the hard times and doubts which come to all and finally to a state of gratitude, hope and assurance. At the same time, the lyrics reflect a strong sense of compassion and social justice. Ten tracks are sung in English and two in French… with one chorus in Spanish. With Ukrainian producer Vladimir Costas at the helm, versatile Australian guitarist and bassist Darren Scott & much-awarded French saxophonist Julien Petit as guest musicians and mastered in Australia by Dave Neil at The Refinery Mastering, it is truly an international effort.
